Welcome to Minnesota. With a diverse economy, scenic natural resources, and many cultural venues, the North Star State is a great place to live. Whether you are in Crookston, Duluth, Morris, Rochester, or the Twin Cities, visit Explore Minnesota, to whet your appetite for places to go and things to do.

Many benefits and services accompany your employment with the University. While much of the information on this Web site pertains to faculty/staff on the Twin Cities campus, the coordinate campuses have put together comparable information for their institutions and locales. In addition to the people you've been working with in your academic department or human resources, your campus Work/Life Liaison is a valuable point of contact for issues relating to spouse/partner employment, child care, housing, schools, etc.

New faculty/staff who will be in Crookston, Duluth, Morris, or Rochester often ask if they can use the moving companies mentioned on this Web site. Yes, the contracts are applicable for out-state deliveries. Contact the companies at their Twin Cities toll-free numbers. The child care referral contract with Career/Life Alliance Services also pertains to areas outside Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Good luck in your new position. Please call or e-mail us if you have any questions regarding your move, 800-227-8636 or rapland@umn.edu.
